Trucks Suited to Wellington Moves
Each move is different and our varied fleet ensures we send the right size truck and team for your move. We use small to large trucks and a van which decades of experience have taught us are best suited to the narrow roads and difficult access areas of Wellington and the wider region. Across much of the areas that we cover, two or more smaller trucks make relocations much quicker and easier than one larger truck would.
NOTE: Attending with a large truck that can’t make it down a long driveway or tight turns will cost you more. VanMan will always send the right sized truck (s) for the job to ensure a cost effective, energetic and efficient service for you.
Equipped for Heavy and Specialist Items
Our trucks and equipment allow us to safely move heavy items including pianos, spa pools, pool tables, commercial kitchens and anything else unique or bulky. All trucks are fully equipped with plenty of moving blankets to protect your homes, flat or business contents, and strops to secure them during transit.

We use proper equipment and techniques to protect your belongings. Treating your belongings like they are our own is important at VanMan, so our teams are trained to keep themselves and your items as safe as possible during the move.

What size trucks do you use?
Our varied fleet include the below:
- Transit van (T-Rex) holds 6m3 – great for very tricky driveways to shuttle up and down. This really helps keep the cost down for you and can be perfect for student moves and single items.
- Small truck (Missy) holds 20m3 – perfect for tricky, tight access. Can comfortably fit a small to standard two-bedroom home.
- Medium truck (Arm) holds 21m3 – very nimble, great clearance for tricky driveways (‘bottoming out’ is very common in Wellington, but not with Arm!)
- Medium truck (Atlas) holds 24m3 – perfect for small to standard three-bedroom homes or apartments and nimble for those tighter access ways.
- Large truck (Keith) holds 32m3 – largest truck equipped with a tail lift.
NOTE: For larger jobs, we’ll recommend the most efficient and cost-effective combination for your move. One larger truck isn’t always the best approach and can often end up costing you more depending on access. If the truck doesn’t make it down the drive or around those sharp corners, this will simply result in more time on the clock. A long carry is nothing to worry about from our side, but our priority is to keep costs down for you.
Can your trucks handle difficult access?
Yes. Our fleet is suited to Wellington conditions. We’ve found small to mid-sized trucks work for all the tricky locations in the wider Wellington region, and we often do move at addresses where a full-sized truck wouldn’t be able to access.
